Moving On

Thursday, April 10th, 2008

Hello All,

I am sorry that I haven’t written in awhile. I changed jobs here at NAIT and so I am no longer an Advisor in the Student Recruitment Office. In the New Year I started a job in Student Life as the First Year Experience Facilitator. As the First Year Experience Facilitator it is my job to help new students transition to life on campus. NAITfye (First Year Experience) offers workshops for new students throughout the year and also organizes Welcome to NAIT events over the summer. If you are new to NAIT and have questions about anything please email me at askfye@nait.ca.

Don’t worry this blog will continue without me! My colleague Jennifer Glenday who is a Prospective Student Advisor in Student Recruitment will be taking over. So watch for Jen’s blog in the fall along with a new group of NAIT student bloggers.

Have a great summer and stay tuned!

New Years Resolution

Thursday, January 3rd, 2008

Everyone sets the same New Year’s resolutions year after year. “I want to lose 10 pounds”, “I want to quite smoking”, etc. My least favorite time to go to the gym is in early January because everyone is keen to lose the weight and regulars like myself cannot get onto a treadmill to save their life. This year join me in setting a New Years resolution that is practical and obtainable. I would like to start bringing my lunch to work and eating slower. What about you??

Staff Christmas Parties

Friday, December 21st, 2007

I am sure that most employees have hadthe pleasure of attending an annualstaff Christmas party. My NAIT partytook placeon December 14th right after Ireturned from a 3 week recruitmentroad trip. I found that this was a great way to unwind after being on the road. Of course a Christmas party is not complete without a visit from the “Big guy in the red suit”. We all took a turn sitting on Santa’s lapand I myself could not escape this. Luckily I was a good girl this year so the experience wasn’t as bad as it could be. HAHA. At least myChristmas party wasgood clean fun. Not all of my friends can say the same. Christmas parties have been known to cause a few scandals….especially wherespecial eggnogis involved. NAIT is a great place to be an employee and this is especially felt during the holidays. Our executive isvery generous this time of year and Christmas parties take place all over campus for weeks leading up to the holiday break.santas-lap-2007.jpg
