NAIT in Motion
Training anytime, anywhere
NAIT in Motion (NIM) is our way of bringing technology to the student.. NAIT's two mobile education units bring NAIT training to communities in Western and Northern Canada - particularly remote areas and Aboriginal communities - where the demand for trades training.
The NIM units are equipped to support the delivery of trade-related programs such as:
- Welding
- Millwright
- Machining
- Gasfitting
- Steamfitting/Pipefitting*
* Bench work, electrical, hoisting and rigging and plumbing training can also be delivered with these units.
NAIT in Motion redefines distance learning by enabling students to remain in their communities while gaining a valuable education experience - one that would normally require relocating to an urban centre.
About NAIT in Motion:
- Each unit is 53 feet long and powered by two generators
- The fold-out sides and hinged collapsible floor hide a state-of-the-art training lab
- The units each hold over $200,000 worth of equipment, including welders, drill presses andother power and hand tools
- A 500-pound crane is attached to each unit so students can learn about hoisting and rigging
- The mobile units can accommodate up to 12 students.
