Course Overview

Improve your skills with data-oriented structures by applying the conceptual, logical, and physical phases of data modelling. Upon successful completion of this course you will be able to define data requirements using a logical data model.

Data modelling is the process of creating a data model for the data to be stored in a database. Graduates of this course will be able to describe where data modelling is applied in the system development process and how data elements relate to each other. Through participation in team projects and case simulations, you will model sample data and produce normalized data results. You will also be able to describe approaches to building logical data models and explain how to validate a logical data model using normalization.

It is recommended that you have previous experience in Information Systems (IS).
