Course Overview

Enhance your leadership and project organization potential by becoming skilled in managing cost and time and producing quality projects. Graduates of this course will be able to demonstrate leadership and project management potential by effectively organizing, planning, monitoring, and completing successful Information Technology (IT) projects.

Project Management is the temporary activity undertaken to create a unique product, service, or result. With the skills gained in this course, you will be able to create the key project deliverables required to effectively manage the work of an IT team while learning leadership skills to achieve project success.

At the end of this course you will be able to describe high level Project Management concepts including scope and cost management, quality and risk management, schedule and communication management, and resource and change management while practicing project management techniques within the context of a multi-disciplinary team.

Prior to enrolling in this course it is recommended that you have work experience in the Information Systems/Information Technology (IS/IT) field.

  • Remote On-Demand Delivery: Where: Online anytime. When: No set class meetings. Coursework is accessed on-demand and online. While there are no set class meetings, there may be set due dates and deadlines for some activities. Students may interact with peers through virtual tools.
  • Remote Independent: Where: Online anytime. When: No set class meetings. Coursework is accessed on-demand and online, with no instructor support. While students choose when to do coursework, there may be set due dates and deadlines. 
  • Work Placement: Where: In-person meetings. When: Work is scheduled at a specific time for students to attend. Onsite work integrated learning. Location at a worksite.
