CIV290 Fluid Mechanics

This course will introduce principles of fluid mechanics and apply these principles to practical problems. Content includes the study of static fluids and pressurized flow. Content related to static fluids emphasize the areas of fluid properties, pressure-elevations relationships, density, force distributions on plane and curved surfaces, and buoyancy. Content related to pressurized flow include Bernoulli's equation, General Energy equation, viscosity, laminar and turbulent flow, energy losses due to friction and fittings, series and parallel pipeline systems.
