Course Overview

Boost the accuracy and precision of your firearms by exploring firearm accurizing. Examine specific machining and gunsmithing equipment and tools for improving the accuracy of a firearm. Unravel the mysteries of Remington 700 bolt action rifles.

With the skills gained in this course, you will be able to blueprint the receiver, blueprint the bolt, adjust and assemble the trigger assembly, practice turn barrel profile and threading, and grind appropriate tooling.

Prerequisites: MACH101 and MACH105 OR minimum 1st year Machinist Apprentice OR minimum 1st year Millwright Apprentice OR related experience pending departmental approval AND hold a Possession and Acquisition License (PAL) and provide a copy of it to NAIT upon registration.

Required materials: Remington 700 action (Student discounts are available at some retailers). Students will be contacted prior to the course start date with specific information including materials required, transporting equipment, and security arrangements.
