Course Overview

This home renovation course is designed for the homeowner who needs information and skills needed to install plumbing. Course content assumes that there is rough-in done below the concrete flooring and the focus is on installations of plumbing lines and fixtures above the concrete slab surface. Time is spent on an overview of determining dimension requirements and layout of fixtures, and a demonstration of installing drains for shower and bathtub. Students will work with solvent welding and gluing, installation of a basin sink and set of taps, and an installation of a toilet. Work is done on PEX, expansion and compression styles of fittings and connections. All work (waterlines, drainage, and fixtures) are pressure tested with water to ensure sound workmanship.
