This course covers the basics of industrial measurement and control with emphasis on mechanical and pneumatic instruments. Topics covered are: pressure fundamentals; common terminology, symbols, and accuracy statements; mechanical and pneumatic subassemblies; operation, repair, and calibration of transmitters and Final Control elements; operation of a pneumatic PID controller and regulators; overview of instrument air supply systems.
Prerequisite: Grade 12 Math & Physics
