This course covers the scientific principles related to the flow of fluids. Topics include: physical and thermal properties of solids, liquids and gases; heat transfer in materials; pressure and hydrostatic head; surface tension; vapour pressure; buoyancy; Bernoulli's equation; fluid friction and pipe losses; gas laws; and thermodynamics of steam. Applications to orifice flow metering is also covered.
