Course Overview

Receive hands-on training to assess, resuscitate, stabilize, and transport trauma patients. Designed specifically for Emergency Healthcare providers who are first to respond to trauma patients, this course teaches the lifesaving steps involved in rapid trauma patient assessment and management and basic airway management.

Skills gained in this course will enable you to practice other essential lifesaving measures including spinal motion restriction, rapid extrication, short back board, helmet management, log roll, and long backboard/scoop stretcher utilization. Become an expert in your field in the area of extremity immobilization and traction splint application.

Prerequisite: Healthcare professionals including first responder, EMR, EMT or other allied health professional who holds suitable qualifications for entry.

The textbook is required for the ITLS Basic Provider course a minimum of 4 weeks prior to the course start date. If you currently do not have the textbook, you can purchase it at Shop at NAIT.
