MACH150 - Introduction to Basic Machining Industrial Skills
A machinist must be able to read and interpret specifications and blueprints, calculate dimensions, determine part tolerances, and properly lay out and identify parts for machining. Students who successfully complete this course will be able interpret drawings, ready precision measuring tools, and solve math equations, including machining calculations, trigonometry, and calculations needed for CNC applications.
Machinists need exceptional problem solving abilities and manual skills. Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to describe how to interpret blueprints to determine dimensions and tolerances through to set up and operation of machining tools.
Note: Students with a mechanical background may be able to bypass MACH150. Contact the program area for additional information.
