MM16 Automotive Air Conditioning

Get to know the fundamentals of automotive air conditioning systems. Students will study the air conditioning systems installed by major automobile manufacturer’s systems, as well as truck cab and add-on or after-market units. Students will learn the fundamental operations of different systems and the step-by-step procedures to discharge, evacuate and recharge systems. Additional topics include:

• manual temperature controls

• service of components

• system diagnosis and repair

• introduction to electronic controls

Note: Students who wish to write the exam for CFC Certification must pay a $25 fee.

Prerequisite: Employment in the automotive trade.
