MM501 Custom Airbrushing

Airbrushing custom designs has become popular on snowboards, welder’s helmets, goalie masks, ski helmets, skateboards, motorcycles and on panels to sell as works of art. It’s expanded well beyond just painting a design on a truck or van. In this weekend class, participants will be introduced to the art of airbrushing and refinishing for custom design and painting. Topics will include:

• planning and design
• equipment operations and settings
• surface preparation
• material selections
• layering techniques
• clear coat finishing

Participants will receive hands-on training utilizing practice panels and airbrush equipment. Everyone will have a finished project to show for their weekend in the course.

Students should bring safety glasses and wear coveralls or clothing appropriate for a painting and workshop environment.
