MT650 Materials and Processes for NDT

This course is intended to introduce NDE technicians to the engineering materials, material processes, codes and standards typically used in the NDE industry. Mechanical testing, heat treatment, welding metallurgy, casting and forging principals will be discussed. Students will be introduced to codes and standards, and their particular application to the NDE industry. This is a general information course designed for use by personnel involved in design, use, or evaluation of Nondestructive Examination applications in Quality Control, Manufacturing, Maintenance and Construction industries. This course includes the NRCan Materials and Processes examination. Additional textbook required.
