OMC101 Introduction to Operations Management

In any business, inputs and outputs have to be managed effectively! Your organization’s success depends on its level of efficiency in converting an input to an output. Students will examine the critical role played by the operations manager to ensure efficiencies and the smooth management of all "activities" within the organization.

The historical evolution of operations management will be discussed, as well as different styles of management and the use of communications methods in operations management. Additional study topics include:

• principles of training

• time management

• human relations and behaviour

• tactics deployment to change attitudes

• hiring the right candidate

Students must bring a calculator to class.
