Course Overview
Learn to follow the 2010 National Plumbing Code in regards to drain, waste and vent systems! Students will learn to effectively follow and use the Code's table of contents, appendices, tables and index. Important terminology and definitions used in the Code will also be reviewed. Additional study topics include:
• interpreting the Code
• discussion of acceptable materials
• special connections
• using the Code to determine water distribution sizing
• using tables in the Code to size elements of drain, waste and vent systems
• clarification and recognition of acceptable procedures as laid out in the Alberta Amendments to the National Plumbing Code
Prerequisite: Apprentice or Journeyman Plumber Certificate.
