PMC108 Project Communication Management

Are you a communicator? Successful projects require clear and open communications among planners, implementers and all concerned levels in an organization. Students will discover the real importance of having a communications plan, including how information is distributed, how progress is reported and what information should be shared with senior management.

Emphasis is placed on developing practical communications skills, how to listen effectively and how to break down barriers to effective communications. Interpersonal skills for project managers will also be addressed, along with methods of managing project conflicts. Additional study topics include:

• using feedback systems that work

• communicating with the customer

• communicating with management

• formal vs. informal communications

• written, verbal, and non-verbal communications

Prerequisite: PMC107
