RFID101 The Fundamentals of Radio Frequency Identification Technology
This course acts as an introductory for those wanting to gain some insight into possible applications of RFID in the workplace. RFID 101 is also ideal for any individual who is starting to work on an RFID project and would like to gain a strong technical foundation in order to rapidly increase awareness of the basics of Radio Frequency Identification Technology.
Course Description
This course is designed to offer the basic terminology of RFID technology as used in the industry. You will gain knowledge of various hardware and software components and how they form a complete system and operate together. You will also gain hands-on experience of real-life applications.
What you will learn in class:
- An overview of the end-to-end RFID system
- RFID applications, their benefits and implementation issues
- A primer on RFID physics
- A presentation of the hardware components: tags, readers, antennas, peripherals and networks
- A presentation of the software components: firmware, middleware, enterprise applications
- Hands-on RFID exercises in the classroom
