Delve into the crucial topics and techniques of soil mechanics and geotechnical applications integral to road building. Explore the study of soil technology, the significance of compaction, soil classification, and index tests on soil. Examine the impact of moisture variance on compaction levels and the use of geo-materials as construction materials.

With the knowledge gained from this course, you will be able to determine soil classifications and assess uses as road-building materials; interpret soil density and field compaction testing procedures and results to ensure compliance with design specifications; and illustrate best practices of subgrade preparation, including the use of geomaterials.
