SAL225 Indigenous Relations 100 - A Historical Perspective

This insightful one-day workshop will provide you with valuable knowledge, helping you establish and maintain positive working relationships with Aboriginal people. By increasing your awareness of Aboriginal culture and delving into their history, you will see the trends and challenges faced today. The presenter will take you through a detailed account of Aboriginal history and culture, including constitutional rights, legislation and treaties as well as the framework that makes this culture unique.

About the presenter:

Stephen Crocker has worked with Aboriginal people throughout his career. In addition to being a school teacher in First Nation communities in Northern Ontario and Manitoba, he also managed a non-profit employment agency that provided employment opportunities to Aboriginal people living in the inner city of Edmonton. He has developed business plans for First Nations starting businesses and worked as a Coordinator for the Metis Nation of Alberta.
