WLD10 Intro to Oxy-Acetylene Welding & Cutting
Get started by learning the basics of welding and cutting. Students will learn basic theory and standard welding shop practices. Areas of study will include:
• proper operation, care and safe handling of oxy-acetylene equipment
• types of flames and their uses
• gas welding rods and fluxes
• fusion welding and braze welding of mild steel
• low temperature brazing
• oxy-acetylene cutting practices
This course is designed as a career exploratory course and no personal project work is allowed.
Prerequisite: Grade 9 or equivalent.
