WLD112 Beginners Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) "TIG"
Discover the basics of GTAW or "TIG" welding. Students will learn basic concepts and theory related to power sources, machine settings and maintenance, types of filler wires and shielding gases. The course emphasizes shop practice, including work on mild steel of various thicknesses and practice on aluminum and stainless steel.
This course is designed as a career exploratory course, and no personal work is allowed.
Prerequisite: Grade 9 or equivalent.
