Course Overview
Designed to prepare candidates for Level 1 Certification according to CSA 178.2, this course is comprised of 11 modules. The 11 modular test exams will be held at NAIT. (An invigilator will come to NAIT to administer the exams; however, if re-tests are required, you must make arrangements through the CWB in Edmonton).
After successful completion you will be eligible to apply to the CWB to challenge the Level 1 Inspector’s exam as per CSA standard 178.2, at an additional cost. Please purchase Course Modules 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, 11, 13, 15 and 16 through NAIT's MAIN Campus Bookstore.
Ideal candidates for this course include engineers, welders, supervisors and technicians working in the field of non-destructive testing, and anyone interested in the area of welding inspection.
Students will write the multiple-choice portion of the CWB exam in-class.
Classes and exams will take place at the Souch campus.
Recommended: A strong welding background or relevant trade experience.
