Course Overview

A craft all its own, type selection is the basic building block of any page. Upon successful completion of this course you will be able to apply typographic techniques and create graphic design compositions.

Typography is the art and technique of arranging type to make written language legible, readable, and appealing when displayed. With the skills gained in this course, you will be able to identify fonts by their anatomy, perform typeface classifications, and make typographic connections.

Graduates of this course will be able to use kerning, tracking, and shifting to achieve balance, flow, and symmetry. You will also be able to describe how to categorize typefaces and the different typography techniques and watch your own work improve right before your eyes.

It is recommended that you complete CCTD115, Adobe Illustrator Level I, and have practical computer experience before enrolling in this course.
