Course Overview

How confident are you in your writing? Do you ever feel unsure about what is correct and why? Participants who complete this course will be able to recognize and correct grammar and spelling errors.

After successful completion of this introductory course, you will be able to write clear, direct sentences while avoiding common errors in grammar and usage. You will be able to edit text samples by identifying and correcting a variety of grammatical errors such as errors in subject-verb agreement, pronoun reference, and sentence fragments.

With the skills you gain in this course, you will be able to apply basic rules for using commas, colons, semicolons, apostrophes, and hyphens correctly. Whether you are new to English or have been speaking it all your life, you will benefit from mastering these concepts and polishing these important skills.

  • Remote On-Demand Delivery: Where: Online anytime. When: No set class meetings. Coursework is accessed on-demand and online. While there are no set class meetings, there may be set due dates and deadlines for some activities. Students may interact with peers through virtual tools.
  • Remote Independent: Where: Online anytime. When: No set class meetings. Coursework is accessed on-demand and online, with no instructor support. While students choose when to do coursework, there may be set due dates and deadlines.
