CSTN2429 - Construction and Architectural Design
This course reflects current design-build requirements of the typical contracting firm. Emphasis within this course will be to develop and write the owner's statement of requirements, create functional relationship diagrams, preliminary and final design of a small to medium size building based on the Alberta Building Code, the owner's statement of requirements, applicable land use, building typology and the urban fabric. Basic presentation techniques will also be examined. Applicable building envelope, structural, mechanical and electrical systems integration will also be incorporated. A technical report will be created as part of the design proposal. The Alberta Building Code will also be examined in a design build scenario.
This course is available to students in the Construction Engineering Technology program. Prerequisites: CSTN1140, CSTN1242, CSTN1292, CSTN2311, CSTN2315, CSTN2360, CSTN2392.
