This course ensures that the student has a basic understanding of some of the important but less traditional factors affecting forestry. It also gives the student a unique opportunity to investigate and report on emerging technologies and issues that are of particular interest to them. Topics include such things as short rotation woody crops for bio-remediation and energy, carbon sequestration, carbon offsets, etc. This course also requires the student to connect with a network of resources that are specific to their interests and will allow them to keep current as forestry professionals.
