ITLS150 - ITLS Basic Instructor
ITLS Alberta’s policies regarding achieving instructor status are:
-Obtain at least 86% on the written test at a provider level
-Receive an excellent on the patient assessment practical exam
-Attain a recommendation to take an ITLS instructor course by an ITLS Advisory Committee member or employer
If all criteria has been met for achieving instructor status, the following must be satisfied:
- Purchase and successfully complete the Instructor Course Online Component found on www.itlsalberta.com
-Attend a one day instructor course
-Be monitored teaching a lecture, skill station, and testing in an ITLS provider course
-Currently a healthcare provider including first responder, EMR, EMT, EMT-P, RN, Physician or other allied health professional
- Obtain minimum grading in an ITLS provider course. If you have not met the requirements in the ITLS provider course, you will need to complete them before you are eligible to become an ITLS instructor.
- Complete the ITLS Course Online Component. Do not purchase the Instructor Course Online Component program unless you are certain you have fulfilled the above requirements.
