WRLS2360 - Broadband Wireless Communications Systems
Generally broadband refers to the technologies that support higher data rates in order to accommodate voice, video and data services on the network. Advancement in technology, access to new frequencies, and consumer demand has transformed what was historically a narrowband wireless link into a broadband wireless communication system. This course introduces the student to channel modeling, channel impairments specific to broadband wireless transmission, channel capacity, spectral efficiency and applications of broadband communication systems. Students use appropriate tools to design, configure and test fixed broadband wireless communication systems such as point-to-point microwave and satellite.
