Welcome to NAIT's eLearning information site!  Whether you are an existing student already learning at a distance, a current NAIT student looking for alternative course offerings, or are new to NAIT and are curious about possibilities for eLearning, this site will help get you started.  Get in, go far!  

What is eLearning?

eLearning is a term used to refer to computer-enhanced learning delivered over the Internet.  It includes both the technologies and coursework that support and enhance the student learning experience.  At NAIT, eLearning means:

• Paced (course start and end dates).
• High levels of instructor/student and student/student interaction .
• Collaborative and individual assignments.
• Instructor and multi-media supported learning opportunities.

NAIT’s eLearning courses reflect our institution’s current educational philosophy.  It will allow you, as an online student, to experience an activity-based learning environment that is led and supported by an instructor.  This approach embeds best practices in online course delivery and helps to contribute to online student success.

• The "Am I Ready?" pages will give you an overview of what to expect in the online learning environment, and will assist you if you are still deciding if eLearning at NAIT is a good choice for you. 
• The "Technical Requirements" section outlines all of the hardware and software system requirements that you will need for eLearning offerings from NAIT.
• The "Learner Information" section details all of the rights and responsibilities to which you musty comply as a NAIT student (which all apply in the online environment!). 
• The "Academic Information" section will provide you with NAIT academic requirements.  
• Finally, the "Resources" page provides links to all of the services that NAIT provides to students, both for personal and for academic assistance.  

As well, the buttons on the right-hand side of your screen provide a permanent link to the most commonly accessed areas of this site: Login to WebCT, Browser Downloads, and Help contacts.
