Every gift has a lasting impact. See your generosity at work in our 2020 Donor Impact Report.

Your support creates a stronger NAIT

No matter the size, your gift makes a lasting impact. Donations are important to our institution, now more than ever. As NAIT responds to the need for polytechnic education and applied research, we are grateful we can count on your generosity.

This year, the COVID-19 pandemic required NAIT staff to adapt quickly. Through your support, you have helped us remain nimble to deliver our programming and support our students. You have provided us with the technology and equipment to ensure our programs are relevant for industry and for Alberta. Most of all, you have made individual student dreams a reality with the financial supports necessary to continue their studies and succeed.

In our 2019-20 Donor Impact Report, we are proud to share the collective impact and stories of how people like you – our industry partners, alumni and friends – are making a difference on our community each and every day.

NAIT President and CEO Laura Jo Gunter shared a video message where she expresses how much donor support is appreciated by the NAIT community. Thank you.

Making students' dreams a reality

“It makes me energized and motivates me to work hard and contribute to society positively.”

Every year, thousands of students benefit from student awards. Relieved, supported, encouraged and thankful are just some of the words they use to describe how it feels to receive scholarship or bursary support.

In 2019-20, nearly half of all student awards were made possible through donors' generosity. In appreciation, students recorded special messages of thanks just for you.

Donors respond to students' calls for help

“I feel fortunate to have had an opportunity to receive a NAIT bursary. I could pay for my food and rent. I am just really thankful for all your help.”

When businesses and schools shutdown during the pandemic, students faced unforeseen financial pressure. Some wondered how they would find the money to get them through the difficult days ahead.

Thanks to donors, NAIT was able to create the COVID-19 Student Relief Fund, raising nearly $150,000 to support students in their time of need.

Frontline Boosters

"I have a lot of respect for the patients we treat and what they are going through. I just hope there is one small difference I can make in their day. When someone says thank you, it means a lot to me, and that keeps me going."

NAIT's graduates from the School of Health and Life Sciences are well prepared for their daily work on the front line to provide outstanding health and patient care in Alberta and beyond.

Donations play an important role in educating these skilled healthcare workers for their careers. From supporting scholarships to providing manikins, face shields and a place to learn, see how donors are helping students and alumni succeed.
