Pre-Technology - Aboriginal

Overview

The Aboriginal Pre-technology program is for students who would like to return to school with other aboriginal learners. Tutorials and mentoring are offered to students in this program. It is a full-time program that requires the student's full attention to succeed. Part-time studies are discouraged.

This program is for students who have a marginal high-school background in math, science and English, or who have been out of school for a period of time. This adult upgrading program begins in the middle of July and ends in the last week of April.

Aboriginal Pre-technology includes an entire package of courses concentrated in subjects like math, English, chemistry and physics. All courses are taught from the point of view of practical application.

Most students completing NAIT's upgrading programs enter a subsequent program at NAIT. The Alberta Transfer Guide lists the NAIT upgrading courses which are accepted as prerequisites at other colleges, technical institutes and universities in Alberta.
