Computers

Library computers (3^rd floor Learning Resources Centre) provide free access for current students and staff to:

• Library search tool (books, eBooks, articles, streaming videos, websites, etc.)
• Databases (articles in journals, newspapers)
• Email
• Internet
• Online courses (WebCT, TLM, Moodle)
• Microsoft Office
• Additional software licensed by NAIT

Use Guidelines

• The computers in the Library are provided to allow current NAIT students and staff to access information needed for their courses and work at NAIT.
• Visitors may use the computers, depending upon computer availability.  They may use the computers to access electronic resources specifically funded by the Government of Alberta for use by all Albertans (e.g. Lois Hole Campus Alberta Digital Library databases).  Access to other library electronic resources may be available upon request.  Since access to all electronic resources will require authentication, visitors should ask the Help Desk staff for assistance.Access is first come, first served. However, all users are asked to respect their fellow students during busy hours by completing computer use promptly.
• Users are individually responsible for understanding and respecting NAIT’s Guidelines for Internet Use and Security Standards (PDF). Any violation will result in appropriate disciplinary action in accordance with NAIT’s Academic Regulations and Procedures.
• In the interest of security, users should logout when they finish using a computer. The Library is a public place, and users should be aware that while the Library does not specifically track each user's actions, transactions you perform on a computer are not entirely private.

Printers

Printing is available for 10 cents per page for black & white, 35 cents per page for colour (letter-sized paper). Printing credits may be purchased from the Project Factory, Cash Office, through the Student Success Contact Centre, or online.
