Culinary team wins big at national competition
Culinary Team NAIT took top honours, including Best College Team, at the recent Culinary Salon Toronto 2007 hosted by the Escoffier Society of Toronto.
It is the first time NAIT has taken a team to this particular competition. Program Head Vinod Varshney says the team surpassed expectations taking home three Best of the Show honours, Best College Team, plus four gold, one silver and one bronze.
NAIT won "Best of the show" in:
- the Casual Luncheon Menu Category;
- Individual Plated Entrees Category; and
- Individual Plated Desserts Category.
Meanwhile, student Tam Pham won two gold medals, student Joon Yoo won one gold and one silver, and Instructor Norman Brownlee won one gold and one bronze.
