This program is designed by health care providers to train Emergency Medical Services personnel to adequately assess and appropriately treat sick and injured people at an intermediate Basic Life Support level of care. The Emergency Medical Technician Program is accredited through the Canadian Medical Association at the Primary Care Paramedic level.

The Emergency Medical Technician Program offers a rewarding and challenging career for those individuals interested in providing emergency medical aid to the sick and injured in a pre-hospital care environment. Emergency Medical Technician training utilizes the facilities of NAIT, active treatment hospitals, basic and advanced life support ambulance services and other allied emergency services.
