English as a Second Language (ESL)

Overview

Improving your English skills can have many benefits. It can help you obtain the prerequisites for entering a full-time NAIT program. It can help you achieve greater success in the English speaking business environment. It can also help you find greater satisfaction from your personal and social interactions.

Whatever your reason is, the ESL courses can help you acquire the skills you need. The ESL program model allows you to improve your abilities through interaction with different instructors and other culturally diverse students, as well as plenty of hands-on practice. You will learn to read, listen, speak and write effectively in the classroom environment and the workplace.

Your first step is to complete the free placement test to determine at which ESL level you need to start. From there, you will enter a supportive environment filled with people ready to help you accomplish your goals.

Funding
Alberta Works Grant Funding for the NAIT ESL Program is now available for domestic students. Applications can be made at the Financial Aid Office in Room O-111, Main Campus.
