Organizational commitment to Workplace Health and Safety is an integral part of staff retention and well being. Increasing awareness and legislative emphasis is placing more responsibility on leaders to ensure that the health and safety of all individuals on their worksite is recognized as a fundamental element of their businesses success. The Occupational Health and Safety for Leaders (OHL) certificate is a 10-module training program designed to provide leaders with the tools necessary to understand their obligations and to monitor ongoing operations. An organization's Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (OHSMS) will, in turn, ensure that they are meeting their legislative responsibilities.
Leaders in the workplace are accountable and responsible for the health and safety of staff within their scope of authority. In order to safeguard their staff's well-being, today's leaders must be increasingly aware of occupational health and safety (OHS) legislation and best practices in workplace health and safety. This program has been developed to do just that.
As a participant, you will learn the importance of a fully integrated health and safety management system and be provided with the tools necessary to evaluate your company's OHSMS system against current standards.
This program is designed for leaders on the worksite such as managers, supervisors, foreman, and joint worksite health and safety committee members.
Note: We recommend that you complete modules PMC101 to PMC106 first to receive a Project Leadership Certificate. You may then register in the OHL series.
