Upon successful completion of this course, participants will receive a Luminaire Service Worker Course Certificate.
Individuals who obtain this NAIT Certificate are authorized, through an exemption granted under section 23 of the Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training Act, to remove and replace ballasts and socket ends for fluorescent luminaires under certain defined conditions, including voltages up to 150 volts.
In order to qualify for the authorization, individuals who pass the Luminaire Service Worker course from NAIT must also have a valid Building Operator B or Fifth Class Engineer’s Certificate of Competency, or a Building Operator A or a Fourth Class Engineer’s Certificate of Competency, or a valid certificate issued by the Alberta Boiler Safety Association indicating a higher level of competency.
