Machine Shop Certificate
Experience hands-on training with the operation of machine shop equipment, including drill press, lathe and milling machines. These courses provide a range of opportunities to improve your theoretical knowledge and hands-on practical skills. The courses will be of interest to those considering a career as a machinist, individuals wanting to develop professionally and hobbyists who want to gain manual machining skills for their projects. Students who take Machine Shop courses receive expert instruction and utilize tools and equipment in the fully outfitted Sandvik Coromant Centre for Machining.
A NAIT Machine Shop Certificate will be issued upon successful completion of MACH101, MACH105, MACH110 and MACH115. NAIT Machine Shop courses (MACH101 and MACH105) are prerequisites for the Gunsmithing Courses.
Students who take these courses may find their training helps to create avenues into the machinist trade, including opportunities at machine shops. Students may also branch out into other areas, such as quality control and tool and die.
