Automotive Service Technician

Overview

NAIT's Automotive Program is the largest single provider of Automotive Apprentice Training in Alberta (42%).  NAIT provides all four periods of Technical Apprenticeship Training as well as the General Motors 'Automotive Service Education Program' (ASEP).  Each period is eight weeks in length.  The students spend six hours per day, five days a week in class for a total of 240 hours.  Three hours each day are spent in a classroom taking trade theory. The remaining three hours are spent doing hands-on training in a lab or repair shop.  NAIT's success is based on the concept of 'hands-on learning'; i.e.:  making theory come to life.
