Business Management Specialization
We are excited to launch our new specialization in Business Management. Previously, this ran as a stand alone certificate in Business Management. The Business Management core group of courses is now a specialization within our Business Fundamentals Certificate. This change will allow students to access a wider variety of courses. Students can also take further specializations within the Business Fundamentals program.
The program and course content was completely redeveloped for the 2014/2015 academic year based on input from entrepreneurs and industry experts. These industry experts helped us to determine the outcomes of the program to ensure that graduates of the program will be able to
- adapt business tools to their specific business needs
- analyse and select business financing options
- link customer engagement with their business operations
- design strategies to grow and lead their business
This is a program for self-starters who demonstrate ethical leadership practices and have a long-term vision to guide their business in a way that meets their personal expectations in an ever-changing environment. Whether a new or existing entrepreneur, the graduate will leave the program with practical skills and tools to start and manage a sustainable business in any product or service area, including the trades, industry, retail, restaurant, etc. Graduates will recognize how the customer, community and employee impact business needs so that they can interpret the fundamentals of business management and eventually integrate all of the planning and development strategies into their specific business.
NAIT’s Business Fundamentals Certificate with a specialization in Business Management will be awarded upon successful completion of the core courses plus any course modules that equal a minimum of 150 hours. Students will design the program that best suits their learning needs. Flexible course options let you choose between evening or weekend classes.
Within the core classes, you will create a business model, design your human resources and marketing plans, understand business law and learn to work with the CRA.
Case studies, simulations, group analysis and discussions will help you develop the practical business skills and knowledge needed to run or start your own business. Instructors are chosen for their ability to provide practical, relevant material acquired through personal education and experience.
The Business Management Certificate qualifies you for Blue Seal Certification through Apprenticeship and Industry Training (AIT).
