Pre-Technology

The Pre-Technology program is for students who have a marginal high-school background in math, science and English or have been out of high school for more than 5 years. This adult upgrading program begins in the last week of August and ends in the last week of April.

Pre-Technology is designed to provide entrance requirements for almost all NAIT programs. It includes an entire package of courses concentrated in the academic subject areas such as math, science and English as well as specially designed electives tailored to program needs. All courses are taught from the point of view of practical application.

Students are given ample opportunity to acquaint themselves with various NAIT programs so they can make appropriate diploma choices in accordance with interest and aptitude.  After achieving the grades required for competitive selection, students may be considered for acceptance into most NAIT programs.  This full-time program requires the student's full attention. Part-time studies are discouraged.

Most students completing NAIT's upgrading programs enter a subsequent program at NAIT. The Alberta Transfer Guide lists the NAIT upgrading courses which are accepted as prerequisites at other colleges, technical institutes and universities in Alberta.

Students who are interested in Pre-Technology - Aboriginal, should contact Lloyd Yellowbird at 780.471.7753.

Pre - Technology will start August 30th, 2010.

Orientation will be held on August 30th  at 9:00 am in the Shaw Theatre (X123) with a special schedule for the remainder of the day will be handed out after orientation.
