Digital Media and IT

The Digital Media and IT (DMIT) program is multidisciplinary in its approach.  Spanning a range of career paths from business analyst to visual designer, this innovative program allows students the ability to meet industrial demand while developing skills aligned with individual talents and inclinations.

Semester 1 is a foundation requirement comprised of common core courses and electives reflecting individual preferences in IT or media disciplines.  Courses in Semesters 2 and 3 are all elective choices, based on career paths identified in Semester 1.  Depending on the career path chosen, students may have up to two areas of concentration.  In Semester 4 students are required to take a project management course, and to complete a major capstone project, along with a selection of electives to complete their respective career paths.

DMIT is the result of a merger between NAIT's Computer Systems Technology (CST) and Digital Media Design (DMD) programs.  Students currently enrolled in those legacy programs will complete their courses per the original calendar.  Wherever appropriate, content from the legacy programs has been adapted into the DMIT curriculum.

Please note that the content within the DMIT pages will be continuously reviewed and updated over the next while.
