Welding Automation Operator Certificate
Welding robots and automated welding systems have been in general use in the manufacturing industry since the early 1980s. As these systems continue to gain industry acceptance the need for trained operators continues to grow.
To meet this growing need NAIT has developed a Welding Automation Certificate (WAC) Program. Individuals, possessing a basic knowledge of manual welding processes, with a desire to learn mechanized welding processes can gain experience in robotics and the application to arc welding. The program consists of six 14-hour modules. Each module includes approx. 50 percent lecture and approx.50 percent practice in a lab setting. Initially, the program will be offered on weekends but can also be delivered during the week to meet client needs.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- A basic knowledge of manual welding processes
- Familiarity with personal computers
