Auto Body Technician
The Auto Body Technician program will train you to repair and replace damaged motor vehicle structures and body components, prepare for refinishing, and apply interior and exterior finishes. You may specialize in prepping, refinishing, sheet metal and plastics repair, or frame straightening.
NAIT also offers a pre-employment option for this trade, which can be taken without being indentured as an apprentice. For more information, visit Pre-employment Auto Body Repair.
All application deadlines, start dates and training schedules are posted on the Tradesecrets website.
Journeyperson certification is available as a prepper, refinisher or repairer. Or by combining these 3 areas, you can become a fully certified auto body technician.
Experienced auto body technicians may advance to supervisory positions, start their own businesses or become automobile damage appraisers for insurance companies.
