Geomatics (Surveying) Engineering Technology Courses

It is recommended that students completing these courses have graduated from a Geomatics Engineering Technology Diploma Program from a recognized technical institution/college, or hold a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university Geomatics Engineering degree program. Students should have sound knowledge of: map projections, geodesy, coordinate systems, and geo-informatics. Students who can demonstrate extensive work experience in geomatics engineering would be considered.

Numerous sectors are seeking personnel with geomatics training, including engineering firms, legal surveying firms, utility companies, energy resource development firms, and all levels of government.
The Canadian Board of Examiners for Professional Surveyors (CBEPS) establishes, assesses and certifies the academic qualifications of individuals who apply to become land surveyors and/or geomatics professionals in Canada.
CBEPS evaluates NAIT course content and, from time to time, may provide exemptions for some of our courses. In those cases, a person who is a CBEPS candidate must meet the CBEPS 60% passing grade requirement in order to earn an exemption.
