The NAIT Campus Ambassadors team consists of a group of proud students who love being a part of the NAIT community. They represent our institution at a variety of different events, such as campus tours, Open House, Program Previews, New Student Orientation and more!
I chose NAIT because of their focus on hands-on learning and the small class sizes. NAIT allows students to develop skills that will help them in their future careers which is great. One thing I really appreciate about NAIT is how helpful the instructors are; they are supportive and make sure that students understand all of the class material. I also like the friendly and welcoming environment at NAIT – it doesn’t matter who you are, you’ll always feel welcome.
As a Campus Ambassador, I get to meet tons of new people and make friends from different NAIT programs. I enjoy sharing my experience with prospective students and telling them what NAIT has to offer. Being a Campus Ambassador has helped me grow personally and professionally, by allowing me to strengthen my soft skills and become a more confident leader.
Lisa Huynh, Respiratory Therapy
I chose NAIT because they offered allied health programs that I was interested in, and I knew it would be a small, comfortable, friendly community. Without NAIT, I wouldn’t have been able to do what I wanted for my career. Through my time at NAIT, I have made some amazing friends. No matter where you are on campus, you’re bound to meet new people. Since NAIT is a small community, it means that those new faces will become familiar in no time!
Being a Campus Ambassador has made me feel a stronger connection to NAIT. I am involved in more, which makes me feel more included, and I have had the opportunity to meet wonderful people – not only is my team great, but the prospective students I meet are awesome too! Becoming a Campus Ambassador helped me overcome my shyness and explore my extroverted side a bit more. The activities we are involved in help promote character growth, and it’s truly pushed me to be a better student and person.
Nabeel Mahmood, Digital Media and IT
I chose NAIT because they live up to their standards as an institution; they focus on providing hands-on learning opportunities so that you can apply your learning in practice. NAIT also has a very successful graduate employment rate which was appealing to me.
My favorite part of being a Campus Ambassador is meeting and interacting with prospective students, current students, and NAIT staff. I chose to become a Campus Ambassador because I wanted to impact the NAIT community in a positive way and build stronger relationships with other students. As a Campus Ambassador, I get to help prospective students make an informed decision on which school they would like to attend – I enjoy taking them on tours and showing them what NAIT has to offer. Becoming a Campus Ambassador was one of the best decisions I made because it helped me build a strong support network and build connections with other NAIT students.
Jericho Mojica, Business Administration (Accounting)
I chose NAIT because it provides technology-based education and has well-established connections to industry. As an international student, NAIT provides me with the technical knowledge and soft skills that will help me fit the Canadian work culture. What I like most about NAIT is the fun events and free food – asides from that, I like how NAIT values diversity and has a close-knit community. When I was a new student, I instantly felt I belonged here because everyone – students, instructors, and other NAIT staff –was friendly, warm, and welcoming. As a Campus Ambassador, I like making guests feel welcome the way I felt welcomed when I first came to NAIT.
My favorite part of being a Campus Ambassador is sharing my own personal experience with prospective students so that they know what to expect if they choose to attend NAIT. I also enjoy all of the friendships I’ve formed with the Campus Ambassadors and students outside of my program. The Campus Ambassador Program has provided me lots of opportunities to develop skills in leadership, communication, and collaboration. Leading campus tours has made me more confident in speaking to a large group of people. We also have personal development sessions that help prepare us to become better professionals after our studies at NAIT. Being a Campus Ambassador definitely made my NAIT experience complete; I learned a lot in the classroom, but also learned other skills that will be helpful for my future.
Sheena Dukewich, Business Administration (Management)
When searching for a post-secondary institution, NAIT had everything I was looking for – technology-based learning, industry-experienced instructors, small class sizes, flexible class schedules, and hands-on learning opportunities. As a student with learning differences (disabilities), proper supports were key for my success and NAIT has a superb Learning Services Centre where I’ve received a lot of support from. I previously completed a Hospitality Management diploma at NAIT, and the support I received from Learning Services and my instructors helped me graduate with honors – something I’m very proud of.
My favorite thing about NAIT is the people. The instructors and NAIT staff are relatable, friendly, and caring, and the students become more than just your peers… they become family and friends. NAIT’s friendly, safe, engaging, and fun environment makes it easy to feel comfortable.
As a Campus Ambassador I have strengthened my public speaking, leadership, and interpersonal skills. During tours I often share my previous struggles with my learning differences and how much NAIT has been there for me; it’s cool to hear prospective students say that they feel the same way. Being a Campus Ambassador has been rewarding and I have met so many great people – with all that I have experienced on campus, I feel the entire world has been opened up to me. NAIT says it’s essential to Alberta; however, NAIT has proven to be essential to me, too!
