1. Where do I find a registration form to enrol?
A registration form can be found on the Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training website, http://www.tradesecrets.gov.ab.ca or on the Apprenticeship Program Enrolment page.
2. How do I register for classes at NAIT?
You can register in person or by phone, fax, or mail. Apprenticeship Program Enrolment.
Please note: Full tuition payment must be made at the time of registration.
3. How do I get my name on a waiting list for NAIT classes and when do they open waiting lists?
Waiting lists open 1 month prior to class start dates. Contact the Registrar’s Office to get on a waiting list.
4. When do I have to pay tuition/registration fees?
Full tuition payment must be made at the time of registration. See apprenticeship program fees.
5. Can I pay with a purchase order or authorization letter?
Yes, payment may be made by a purchase order or authorization letter. The letter must accompany the registration form at the time of registration. These requests can be processed in person, by phone, fax, or mail.6. I have not received my notice of acceptance - what do I do?
Your notice of acceptance, EI reference code, and receipts are now available on the NAIT Portal. An email would have been sent to you informing you of this information, if you did not receive an email please contact 780.471.NAIT (6248) to have your information updated. 7. What are the penalties for cancelling an apprenticeship class at NAIT?
In all cases, a minimum fee of $100 will be withheld if you cancel your enrolment before the first day of class. After classes start there will be no refunds.
8. Where can I find out about awards, bursaries, scholarships and grants?
There are several scholarships and student awards available to apprentices. Contact Student Awards at 780.491.3056 or awards@nait.ca for information on deadlines and application criteria. Student Awards Handbooks are also available at all campuses.Financial aid may also be available for apprentices who are attending full-time technical training and demonstrate financial need. Contact the Financial Aid office at 780.471.6248 or financialaid@nait.ca for grant application forms. 9. Where can I find the application for the $1000 Apprenticeship Incentive Grant that is available to apprentices who have completed first and second period after January of 2008?
Information on the federal Apprenticeship Incentive Grant and the application form can be found on the Service Canada website. Copies of the application are also available from the Financial Aid office.10. Where can I find the regular apprentice grant funding application?
These forms are available from the Financial Aid office or any of the Canada-Alberta Service Centres. If you would like one mailed out to you, or would like to inquire about the status of your application, contact the Student Funding Contact Centre at 780.427.3722, or 1.800.222.6485 (toll-free in Alberta).
11. What do I do with my Record of Employment (ROE)?
As of January 3, 2011 apprentices are required to submit your ROE to the nearest Service Canada Centre. (link to service Canada, http://www.servicecanada.gc.ca.) or mail to

14. Where do I get my student ID?
Your student ID will be distributed in class during the first couple of days.15. Where do I get my course materials and supplies?
You will receive lists of required texts, program notes and course materials and supplies at orientation on the first day of class. All materials are available at the bookstore on each campus. Find approximate costs of Text books and supplies.
16. Where can I get a bus pass?
Bus passes are available at the bookstore on each campus. Please bring your student ID for reduced rates.
17. Can I obtain a locker while going to school?
Yes, lockers are available on campus, Locker Rentals.
18. Is tutoring available?
Yes, NAIT’s tutoring centres provide free tutoring on a drop-in basis. You will need your student ID.19. Are there counselling services available?
Confidential and free counselling services are available on Main Campus.20. Is there support for students with disabilities?
Yes, our Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD) office coordinates support services for students with disabilities based on individual need and documentation. Disability related services are provided to students with diagnosed learning disabilities, ADHD, medical conditions, mental health disabilities and physical disabilities.
If you feel you have an undiagnosed disability, please make an appointment with a counsellor to have an assessment completed. Call as soon as you can to ensure there is enough time to get services in place prior to your start date. Assessments can take a month or more to complete.
21. How do I get my Transcrip/results from my apprenticeship schooloing?
Apprenticeship course results are obtained through the Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training Centre.
