NAIT has a wide variety of student clubs that give you the opportunity to take a break from class, meet new people and have fun sharing your interests with others. All clubs are open to every NAIT student.

General interest clubs

Interested in movies, fitness or arts – or something else entirely? NAIT may already have the club for you. Find other students with similar interests in more than 50 different clubs. Check out NAIT’s clubs in person at the October and January Club Fairs, or explore the list of current clubs.

Program-related clubs

There are more than 30 program-related clubs at NAIT. These include class-specific clubs (e.g. Respiratory Therapy 2011), as well as program-specific clubs, like NAIT’s hospitality clubs:

Start a club

Can’t find a club for your interests? Start a new club and find like-minded people. The NAIT Students’ Association (NAITSA) can help you get started. The NAITSA Club Centre offers start-up support for clubs, booking space, training for club leaders, club banking, event equipment loans and event approvals.

Sports teams

NAIT’s intercollegiate men’s and women’s athletic teams – the Ooks – are always strong. The Ooks field 12 teams in 8 different sports in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference: hockey, basketball, volleyball, soccer, badminton, curling, golf and cross-country running.

The Ooks have won numerous provincial and national titles, with many players and coaches named as conference leaders. Ooks also shine in the classroom: NAIT traditionally leads the league in the number of athletes on the honour roll.
