NAIT offers several orientation sessions to help you get to know NAIT, your program, and what to expect.

Program Orientation

Your full-time program will have a program orientation. This is a very important session – information about day-to-day expectations, book lists, and class schedules are shared with new students. Check program orientation and first day information for details.

NAIT First Year Experience (NAITfye)

The NAIT first year experience program (NAITfye) was created to make your transition to NAIT from high school or work easy and stress-free. NAITfye will help you:

  • become confident in your knowledge of NAIT’s campus, policies and processes.
  • make connections at NAIT and get involved with groups, peers and staff.
  • get personal and academic support, including where to find help and resources.
  • learn to balance your academic and social life.

How it works

Full Time Students

Once you receive your conditional or full acceptance, you will get an invitation to welcome events and workshops, where you will learn about:

  • student services at NAIT
  • fees
  • books
  • survival tips

You’ll also get a tour of campus and resources to help make your first weeks easier.

Once you’ve started at NAIT, check out NAITfye’s information sessions, workshops and other events designed to help you make the most of your NAIT experience.

Your NAITfye contact is also available to help you with your questions and connect you with the right people and resources throughout the year.

Apprentices

Being an apprentice student is quite different from being a full-time student. Apprentices are in school for short periods of time and some programs are on satellite campuses. This is why there is a NAITfye facilitator just for you.
